What you’ll be doing:
The Verizon Ft. Belvoir team is responsible for maintaining the government’s CS2100 telephone switching environment on post and ensuring the proper operation 24/7/365. You will be managing a team of switch techs who implement solutions, monitor efficiency and follow troubleshooting guidelines to ensure the stability of the CS2100 and the nodes that are part of the switching environment. The goal of Verizon at Fort Belvoir is to support DISA/J6’s mission of providing effective telecommunications and it’s infrastructure for all of it’s customers at Fort Belvoir.
Provide supervision of maintenance to the CS2100 Switch.
Supervise monitoring CS2100 switch for alarms.
Provide 24X7X365 coverage for CS2100 switch.
Monitor and provide access to other nodes throughout the base.
Maintain Security Logs for each of the nodes.
Monitor the AC Units, generators and batteries in each of the nodes.
Coordinate upgrades with the RNEC for the CS2100 switch if necessary.
Manage government orders as needed: Obtain and submit quotes on services and equipment for government customers to fulfill their missions. Prepare Purchase Requestions from quotes and submitting them for Purchase Orders.
Track profit and loss including invoices and payments. Obtain Maintenance Contracts from partner Heating and Air Conditioning, generators, node batteries and Switch Personnel.
Part of the responsibility is Duty Supervisor every 4-6 weeks being available 24X7 for emergency call outs is necessary. Out of hours calls are the norm if the trouble pertains to the particular work responsibility.
Maintain ISO 9001 processes for Trouble Ticket Procedure and HVAC and Generator Alarm and Monitoring Procedure.
What we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will have the skills required to manage the CS2100 maintenance team in all aspects of the CS2100 Switching System and all attached peripherals. They will also have excellent communication and organizational skills, be a team player and customer focused.
You’ll need to have:
Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience
Familiarity with CS2100 switching environment
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
Ability to be onsite in Fort Belvoir three or more days a week
Even Better if you have one of the following:
Public Sector experience
PMP certification
ITIL certification
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
