We are seeking a Senior Experience Designer III to join our Verizon Value Design Systems team where we are crafting design systems that powers multi-brand, multi-channel experiences in the Verizon Value portfolio. As a Senior Designer III, you will envision, create, and maintain fundamentals and components of the Verizon Value design system. You will work independently to solve complex problems, producing sound, effective design solutions while collaborating with the team to develop new ideas. Working with cross-functional partners, you will define and maintain a design language that aligns with multiple brand guidelines and reflects best practices in UI and UX design.
Understanding and applying patterns from the design system to create a consistent user experience.
Thoroughly exploring, refining, and documenting design solutions while adhering to design system guidelines.
Crafting components to support diverse experience patterns and brand customization.
Articulating user, business, and/or technical reasoning for detailed design decisions in critiques or presentations.
Participating in design critiques, giving and receiving constructive feedback and considering other perspectives to adapt approach and point of view.
Maintaining a fluent knowledge of UI standards for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web).
Actively researching competitive products, industry trends, and topics, and recommending activities, solutions, and methods to guide team members and stakeholders.
Gaining an understanding of and working within Verizon's front-end and back-end technology constraints and capabilities.
Identifying project needs and engaging stakeholders in conversation to fully understand needs.
Presenting work and engaging in constructive dialogue with stakeholders to understand the context of tasks and ensure strong design rationale.
Playing a lead role in mentoring peers and new hires by sharing experiences and processes to enable growth.
Working independently to identify and solve design problems of varying complexity and help plan overall approach.
Reviewing designs to ensure accessibility requirements are met.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience building and contributing to design systems.
Experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe and/or related design software.
Portfolio examples of design systems you have created or contributed to.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree in design or related field of study.
Experience with complex, enterprise level design systems, especially for a house of brands.
Ability to digest and translate complex technical requirements into intuitive experiences.
Experience with agile methodology and tools.
Experience with Smart Sheets and/or Google Suite.
Experience with Fortune 500 organizational environments.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $107,000.00 and $199,000.00 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
