You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the Verizon Business Customer and Employee Events organization’s Public Sector team delivers on its goal of executing, on average, some 30 high level events and trade shows per year, touching upwards of 150K customers and attendees. You’ll help plan and coordinate experiences that showcase Verizon’s ability to support first responders and the Public Safety community with the network and assets that deliver, as well as demonstrate how our solutions create new possibilities in the Federal, State and Local Government and Education space.
As a knowledgeable resource and planner for national and regional Public Sector events, you’ll ensure details, stakeholders, timing and execution are aligned and seamless.
Coordinate and support the execution of successful Public Sector customer programs and events.
Create and maintain status tracking documents and hold regular touch points to ensure all involved team members are aligned, aware of deadlines and providing updates.
Coordinate with venues, partners, administrators and legal to ensure content and materials are approved for use at events.
Communicate tactical details to speakers, guests and peers to ensure timely delivery of on-site materials and to ensure calendars and presence are synchronized.
Coordinate delivery of promotional materials for events.
Work with marketing peers to facilitate delivery of invitations, reminders and social posts.
Provide operational support to help ensure Public Sector Events delivers accurate reporting.
Maintain and regularly report on budget tracking documents for PS Events team.
Oversee internal team tracking of status documents and schedules.
You’re focused on tactical execution and are skilled at aligning people, resources, assets and goals to deliver exceptional events with multiple moving parts. You’re a trusted, experienced and flexible team member, able to work with direction to meet performance goals while maintaining and fostering strong professional relationships and trust, both internally and externally. You’re not afraid to ask questions, or to speak your mind when in doubt. You have a sense of urgency and deliver on-time, on-budget results. You have an eye for detail and are confident in your ability to track and deliver precise reporting on events and budgets. You keep the big picture in focus as you handle the details associated with multiple engagements and events. You bring strong knowledge of Public Sector policies and how they apply to event or trade show execution.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience managing large complex projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master’s degree. Ideally, in project management.
Managed projects with PMI or MSP methodologies.
Certification in PMP and/or MSP.
Practical knowledge of PPM tools.
Motivated and influenced teams to deliver outcomes and results.
Knowledge of Public Sector policies and how they apply to event or trade show execution.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $76,000.00 and $142,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
