The Tech Enablement Senior Manager for Service APIs and APIs Framework team is responsible for the long term strategy to unify and enhance the customer experience across API platforms, while identifying new opportunities for automating, exposing and monetizing new network services through APIs. This role will work closely with Product Management, IT, Network Services, and Engineering teams, to ensure that the overall API platform strategy and API products meet the needs of our customers and align with our overall business goals.
As a Tech Enablement Senior Manager, you will be an integral part of the Verizon Business Group’s Technology Solutions organization. You will influence the design and development of a unified API Framework to automate the onboarding, support and exposure of Verizon APIs, while delivering a great customer experience. You will work closely with the Product Management teams to define customer requirements and drive the implementation across multiple technical teams.
Responsibilities will include:
Developing a strategic roadmap for exposing internal and external network services via APIs, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
Aligning API platform development with business objectives, focusing on enabling third-party developers and partners to easily access network services
Conducting competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities for monetizing and enhancing network services through APIs
Collaborating with different stakeholders to improve and modernize wireline and wireless managed services
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in product development
Experience launching products in an agile environment
Strong problem solving abilities and customer-centric mindset
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A Master’s degree in Business or Engineering field
Proven experience in API product management or a similar role
Ability to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for APIs aligning with overall business objectives
Ability to support market research, analyze competitor offerings, and identify API monetization opportunities
Familiarity with Wireless and Wireline network services
Strong understanding of API Management platforms and API security
Ability to champion API best practices, documentation standards, and version control
Ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the API lifecycle, from design to deployment
Ability to collaborate with internal teams to gather feedback from API consumers and internal stakeholders to drive product enhancements
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support
Ability to lead/supervise multiple projects, perform project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuration, resources and scheduling
Good understanding of API documentation and collaboration tools (e.g. Swagger, Postman)
Experience with agile development methodologies
Familiarity of Cloud infrastructure and services

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $119,000.00 and $241,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
