    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic intern with a genuine interest in learning about corporate finance and contribute to a team environment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a commitment to professional growth, and a collaborative mindset.

    The Nationwide Financial Finance intern will support the NFPM&A team in delivering insights and analyses critical to decision-making in the insurance and financial services industry. The internship offers hands-on exposure to corporate finance and forecasting processes while developing key technical skills and competencies.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Gaining exposure to tools like Excel, Power BI, and Data Lake Repositories to support real-world finance processes

    • Performing variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

    Qualifications:

    • Pursuing a bachelor's degree and within 2-3 semesters of graduation

    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables)

    • Understanding of foundational finance concepts such as budgeting and forecasting

    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) preferred but not required

    • Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

    • Comfort working with numbers and analyzing data to draw conclusions

    • Ability and desire to solve complex problems

    • Willingness to communicate and collaborate with others

    Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program. At its sole discretion, Nationwide determines whether to offer sponsorship for qualifying positions based on business need and budget. However, it is not usually available for entry level roles.
