ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As an APPLICATIONS ARCHITECT, you will support IT leadership by contributing to architecture initiatives and strategies, leading technical initiatives, supporting architecture solutions, and guiding infrastructure architecture design and development. The selected candidate will support modernization initiatives and set the organizational direction for the next generation of applications. He/she will develop roadmaps and strategies that support the business and technical needs for Modernization of Legacy Applications.

This APPLICATIONS ARCHITECT will be focused on moving the organization into Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning architectures and will:

• Produce Architectural solutions for projects on various platforms utilizing multiple technologies including Cloud, Mobile, Analytics, and Integration with 3rd party software and platforms - Big data and analytics will be a key focus area.
• Assist in developing policies and set technical direction within the Enterprise Enablement Solutions Delivery Group (SDG) and for the enterprise as a whole.
• Assist in developing roadmaps to reduce technical debt.
• Evaluate tools, vendors, and products as needed.
• Work on various projects which may include multiple development, Database, and NoSQL platforms, integration, vendor analysis, and mentoring of development teams.
• Be able to produce rationalized architecture diagrams, do trade-off analysis, and understand security implications for solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience developing architectural solutions with NoSQL components like Hadoop or Cassandra.
• Expert attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) such that you can communicate technical details to development teams, produce review materials for SDG Management, and present to the Architecture Community.
• Big-picture thinker.
• Expert in Architecture and product roadmapping, multi-tier application architecture, data analysis, patterns, and trade-off analysis.
• Advanced-level proficiency in Cloud development/architecture, Big Data, and Analytics
• Collaboration, teamwork, organization, planning, communication and cross-portfolio relationship skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The desired APPLICATION ARCHITECT will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

Founded on a $100 loan in 1907, 2 teenage boys opened up a messenger service in a 6 by 17 foot office located just below the sidewalk on Second Avenue and Main Street in Seattle, WA.
