  • Responsibilities

    The Relationship Associate role is a key sales position driving asset growth and deepening client relationships for Polen Capital.  As the internal leader on a high-achieving Distribution team, this sales leader will jointly own responsibility for growing the team’s number of relationships with the top wealth management teams in the industry.  The candidate also plays a critical role driving assets into Polen Capital’s Mutual Fund, SMA, and other investment vehicles – across the market cap spectrum and across Polen’s autonomous equity and credit investment platforms. 

    Successful candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive and will want to work hard to be seen as a trusted and critical business partner.  Success in the role fundamentally relies on a candidate’s proactive approach, laser-focus on the needs of their business partners, and an innate desire to continuously improve and drive results.  For candidates who are driven by results and have an ability to stay focused on the bottom line of asset growth and retention, this position is an “on ramp” to an attractive career in asset management distribution.

    Responsibilities

    • Proactive sales outreach in assigned territory to successful financial advisors via outbound calls and e-mail efforts
    • Support strategy execution for the assigned territory with the appropriate utilization of firm resources to achieve annual goals
    • Provide an in-office point of contact to answer questions and facilitate completion of requests and questions
    • Improve effectiveness and efficiency of the team where there is opportunity
    • Comfortable selecting top priority prospects from data such as Total Mutual Fund/SMA/UCITS AUM in target asset classes, distribution platforms, and competitive performance
    • Commitment to partnership: sales is a team sport, and the internal wholesaler is at the heart of a high-functioning sales team, helping align everyone to the team’s highest value efforts
    • Cultivate strong relationships with business partners across the firm, including marketing, data analytics, and the investing teams
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of market dynamics and firm investment strategies and offerings; share client and market feedback with internal partners across the firm
    • Focus on the bottom line: success will be measured primarily on asset-growth and retention in targeted products, with targeted financial advisors
    • Document activities and opportunity milestones in a timely way via required technologies and process in the contact management system
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Prior success in a position of sales responsibility, preferably within Financial Services
    • FINRA S7 and S66 licenses, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
    • Demonstrated interest in capital markets, with progress towards advanced industry certifications
    • Comfort with phone and e-mail tools, and a commitment to high activity as these are our primary methods of establishing contact and building new relationships with prospects
    • Conviction in the value of data analytics to segment prospects by success likelihood
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confidence, and the ability to gain credibility as a capable sales leader
    • Proven skillset to analyze business situations, synthesize detailed information, identify key priorities, and allocate time effectively
    • Assertive and execution-oriented with the ability to manage effectively through ambiguity and competing priorities
    • Ability to embrace and contribute to a cohesive team environment, think critically, and problem-solve
    • Commitment to agility, continuous learning, proactiveness, and development
