    “I can succeed as an Internal Retirement Plan Counselor, TPA at Capital Group.”

    As an Internal Retirement Plan Counselor, TPA, you will Executes strategic business and coverage plans. Develops, implements, and executes a strategic business and coverage plan, that targets mid-level TPA firms. Analyzes activities (e.g., redemptions, sales) for the firms covered in the business plan, identifies trends and proactively shares with others.

    • I can initiate proactive outbound calls to TPAs to influence utilization of products and service.
    • I can deliver effective call openings, asks probing questions to understand current needs and opportunities for our products and services, and shares ideas in a consultative and effective manner. Utilizes speaking points, in combination with independent knowledge of firms, in order to provide ideas specific to business development opportunities with the TPAs.
    • I can provide education on various retirement products and services and shares current campaign with firms.
    • I can conduct webinars to educate TPA firms on ongoing initiatives
    • I can cultivate and maintains business relationships with TPA
    • I can leverage business and coverage plans to ensure goals are achieved to develop and maintain appropriate levels of contact with centers of influence with firms. Researches and gathers pertinent information from CRM system to identify firms to contact, as well as evaluate results of strategic business and coverage plans. Collaborates with sales force members on business development leads and joint marketing opportunities.
    • I can leverage escalated service issues to enhance on-going relationship with firms; escalates concerns and/or involves other CG associates to ensure issues are addressed and resolved timely.
    • I can provide training to internal associates. Serves as a resource to internal associates on technical retirement plan questions related to the TPA’s and delivers training to elevate the overall retirement plan knowledge of associations. Identifies training needs based on trends in daily interactions with other departments and/or in response to requests from management. Shares techniques with associates on how to best utilize the sales opportunity and/or information with the TPA.
    • I can partner with the external TPA Retirement Plan Counselors to provide coverage to both strategic and emerging TPAs across all geographic territories.
    • I can represent American Funds and our products at industry conferences and TPA forums.
    • I can perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

    • You will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the retirement plan industry and American Funds retirement solutions.
    • You exhibit knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
    • You have a bachelor’s degree.
    • You are well spoken and upbeat with sales experience.
    • You thrive in team settings. You ask great questions, bounce ideas off others and proactively share your perspective.
    • You have an interest in developing an in-depth understanding of the defined contribution marketplace.
    • You will need to have or complete the FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7,& 63.

    San Antonio Base Salary Range: $69,072-$110,515

    In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
