Job Description
THIS POSITION REQUIRES A STRONG SENSE OF TIME MANAGEMENT, ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS, AND ABILITY TO HANDLE MANY COMPETING RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES. THE BOOKKEEPER NEEDS TO BE CONFIDENT IN THEIR ABILITIES AND ABLE TO GIVE THE OWNER/ATTORNEY DIRECTION REGARDING FINANCIAL DECISIONS BASED ON CURRENT FINANCIAL NEEDS OF THE FIRM.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HOLDS A BS DEGREE IN FINANCE, ACCOUNTING OR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION -- OR--- HAVE A COMBINATION OF AN ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE OR OTHER TRAINING COUPLED WITH ON THE JOB EXPERIENCE. THE CANDIDATE MUST BE PROFICIENT IN ENGLISH AND IN QUICKBOOKS. ULTIMATELY, THE BOOKKEEPER’S RESPONSIBILITIES ARE TO
RECORD TRANSACTIONS SUCH AS INCOME AND OUTGOINGS, AND POSTING THEM TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF OWNER/ATTORNEY
PROCESSING PAYMENTS FROM CLIENTS AND OTHER VENDORS
CONDUCTING DAILY BANKING ACTIVITIES LIKE DEPOSITS
PRODUCING VARIOUS FINANCIAL REPORTS FOR OWNER/ATTORNEY ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE BY ENTERING DATA, MAINTAINING RECORDS AND CREATING REPORTS AND FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
RECONCILING REPORTS TO THIRD-PARTY RECORDS SUCH AS BANK STATEMENTS.
VERIFY THAT TRANSACTIONS ARE RECORDED IN THE CORRECT DAY BOOK, SUPPLIERS LEDGER, CUSTOMER LEDGER AND GENERAL LEDGER
COMPLETE TAX FORMS
PROCESS ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/PAYABLE AND HANDLE PAYROLL IN A TIMELY MANNER
SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC BOOKKEEPING AND ACCOUNTING PAYABLE/RECEIVABLE PRINCIPLES
OTHER BOOKKEEPING/FINANCIAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY OWNER/ATTORNEY
