    PILOT FREIGHT SERVICES I_s seeking a full time CARGO CLAIMS ADJUSTER for our GLEN MILLS, PA OFFICE.

    JOB SUMMARY

    This job is responsible for investigating and settling cargo and general liability claims. The individual will review claimant submitted reports and photos, order inspections when necessary, determine coverage, and authorize payments. The individual must be able to work independently, manage workload, and pivot to address urgent matters

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Respond to phone/written inquiries from customers, stations, insurance companies, etc.
    • Receive claims for loss & damage, gather documents pertinent to claims process
    • Set up inspections and subrogate with carriers
    • Scan/upload pertinent documents (formal claims submissions, invoices, inspection reports, signed release, settlement check) into CMS
    • Perform interviews and gather all statements from insured clients, physicians and attorneys for all claim information and evaluate all facts for policy contracts
    • Coordinate with team leader and attorneys and prepare all cases for trials and record all statements of witnesses and participate in all claim file review and audits
    • Handle and/or coordinate with Pilot’s insurance carrier on general liability claims
    • Evaluate progress for pending claims, coordinate with team leader for all issues and effective resolution, and develop new methods to handle claims
    • Run and issue reports, enter insurance approvals/denials in system
    • Other job-related duties as required by the Director, Claims & Loss Prevention or the Claims Coordinator

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    This is a clerical administrative position in a professional office setting.  The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, stoop, bend and reach.   Extensive use of a phone and a PC is required.  Position may require to work remotely at times
