    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Primary Responsibility:

    The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. During this experience, our interns will gain valuable knowledge related to Supply Chain while contributing to the one of the COOLest business sectors.

    The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Work with Sr Analyst and Manager within the supply chain solutions team (SCS) on target projects in supply chain design and transportation optimization. The intern will perform various tasks while learning about different business functions, network optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong analytical and communication skills are critical for success in this role.
    • Potential Projects: Interns will have an opportunity to work on various projects targeted towards improving supply chain solution’s capabilities
    • Data Modeling: Using advanced data mining, analysis, and visualization skills to gain insights that will uncover business opportunities and guide strategic decisions.
    • Transportation Solutions: Provide analytical support in developing transportation solution for our customers interested in Americold’s transportation program. Service offerings include but are not limited to regional and truckload consolidation programs, national ross-dock, and multi-vendor consolidation program.
    • Internal Initiatives/Continuous Improvement: Support design/build of technical processes to address business issues in transportation. Support development of business cases for internal initiatives/design activities related to client proposals and internal initiatives.
    • Tool Development: Support in development and maintenance of network modeling analytical tools with an eye on improving efficiency, accuracy, and flexibility of the current service offerings of the SCS team (Digital Twin, Optimization model templates, Enterprise model development for health of supply chain check)

    What Experience and Education You Need:

    • Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related discipline (prefer ME/MS students)
    • Coursework/projects in supply chain network design, transportation optimization, inventory management
    • Projects/experience with supply chain related data analytics

    What Could Set You Apart:

    • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI/Tableau and SQL required
    • Knowledge of CPLEX, Coupa Supply Chain Modeler (Llamasoft) for modeling is preferred
    • Experience programming language (Python or R) is a plus

    • Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
