John Deere has an office at the Ames ISU Research Park, with an IT Early Development Program (EDP) position open within the area of Cyber Security. The IT EDP is for new or recent graduates in Information Assurance, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree.

• The IT Cybersecurity EDP is a two year rotational program through which new or recent college graduates are recruited to build cyber security skills that are essential to future business growth and needs.
• Is the primary entrance point for entry-level positions in cyber security positions at John Deere.
• Builds a solid foundation of cyber security knowledge at John Deere through two meaningful 12-month rotationsYour Responsibilities
• There are 2 IT EDP positions available. Applicants will be considered for either/both positions as their interest allows.

Position #1

As an IT EDP in Cyber Security, you will work in John Deere’s new Vulnerability Management Program. As a member of this team you will you work with business units across the enterprise, and help identify, evaluate, and score IT risk to provide management with insights and recommendations for corrective actions. In addition you will:

• Execute Vulnerability Scans when requested by Application Owners.
• Analyze the results of Vulnerability Scans, assess criticality, and define priority and SLA.
• Provide expertise to Application Owners to help them understand individual issues, and provide guidance in remediation when required.
• Help Define and execute processes for tracking issues, managing SLAs, and providing reports\metrics.
• Assist in the development of new scans and security tests such as authenticated scans, penetration testing, etc., as needed per the - Vulnerability Management Process.
• Work on various Cyber Security-Related projects as needed.

Position #2

As an IT EDP in Cyber Security, you will work in John Deere’s new Cloud Security Program. As a member of this team you will:

• Consult with development teams to determine what AWS access policies are needed for security and functionality and help to implement the solution
• Assist support teams to correct gaps identified in routine use of AWS
• Provide assistance in troubleshooting application issues in AWS
• Participate in development efforts for Cloud Security controls continuous improvement

What Skills You Need

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Information Assurance, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree
• Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 15%.
• Work in the Ames office
