    Undergraduate Intern / Co-op Program Overview (TechOps)

    (Winter/Spring - January-April) intern/co-op within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.

    Summary & Objectives:

    MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Intern/Engineer to join the team. In this Intern/Engineer position:

    You will partner with Technical Operations to develop skills related to SQL programing, support database development, execute new and refined DB reports, and contribute to developing BKMs related to the CMMS system. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Equipment Services, TechOps.

    You Will Make an Impact By:

    • Becoming adept in understanding and executing SQL programing related to CMMS.

    • Develop an understanding of CMMS systems and utilization in a manufacturing environment.

    • Work with current CMMS users to understand the PM and equipment response process

    • Update current database reports to better utilize field information

    • In conjunction with the software vendor (Manufacturing Asset Solutions), develop new SQL queries and reports.

    Skills You Bring:

    • Level of formal education - currently enrolled in an undergraduate degreed program

    • Work Experience - Minimum required, exposure to the work environment through general former employment.

    • Required Experience- Computer skills related to the job description

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand

    • Must be able to exchange accurate information

    • The ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

    • Operates in a professional office environment

    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

    Required Skills:

    • Have standard computer, OS and Office application skills

    • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Science Engineering or relevant majors

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

    • Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time

    • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination

    Travel Requirements: Up to 10% of Travel is required (within the Merrimac Valley)
