A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a firmware engineer at Automation & Control Solutions, you will work alongside R&D firmware and hardware engineers to contribute to the development of cutting-edge automation products. In this role, you will report to the principal firmware engineer.
This is a part time position, 20 hrs per week.
You Will Make an Impact By:
• Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of firmware in C.
• Writing, testing, and debugging code in languages such as C and Python
• Collaborating with senior engineers to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Participating in the development and execution of test plans and test cases.
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving firmware-related issues and bugs.
• Creating and maintaining documentation for firmware development processes, code, and test procedures.

• Proficiency in a programming language
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
• Proficiency in Python or C
• Familiarity with git
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
