    Undergraduate Intern / Co-op Program Overview-

    • 6 month co-op assignment within Power Solutions Advanced Development Group at MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends
    • Meaningful work and project assignments

    Summary & Objectives:

    We are looking for an exceptional Electrical/Computer Engineering student who can assist Development Engineers in support of new RF power supplies for use in semiconductor manufacturing applications. The project content can include power electronics, digital signal processing, digital control systems, semiconductor/plasma physics testing, and simulation:

    • Work with the Engineering staff to develop and test designs for prototypes for MKS products.
    • Assist in the design of analog/digital/power circuits, embedded software (C, C++) and firmware.
    • May do hands-on assembly and test of prototypes and test circuitry.
    • Analysis of high speed RF data collected on plasma process tools.
    • Modeling of RF/plasma system behavior
    • May also do circuit board layout and the development of supporting documentation.
    • Develop test automation scripts in Python to validate RF power supply functionality and/or features

    Required Skills:

    • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant majors
    • Self-directed individual with a desire to learn new things in his/her chosen field and adjacent fields
    • Completion of basic technical courses, such as physics, circuit theory, statistics

    Competencies:

    • Hands-on skills working with circuits and test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers)
    • Experience with Python and/or MATLAB programming languages

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 to $29.00 per hour . This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

    Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
