  • Responsibilities

    Undergraduate Internship Program Overview:

    • Summer 2025, June to August, Undergraduate internship, within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.
    • 40 hours a week for the Summer 2025
    • Meaningful work and project assignments, such as: testing motion control products, etc., in a research lab, and working with controllers- putting electrical and mechanical pieces together, etc.
    • Networking opportunities with peers and executives
    • Exposure to different divisions of the business

    A Day in Your Life at MKS:

    As an IT Change Communications Specialist Intern at MKS, you will partner with the various specialty teams within IT (e.g. IT Cybersecurity, Microsoft Collaboration and Communications, Business Applications) to assist with their communication, training management (scheduling and monitoring), and various other needs. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Manager, IT Operations.

    You Will Make an Impact By:

    • Writing and delivering tactical IT communications including email announcements, articles and talking points.
    • Building compelling and visually appealing PowerPoint presentations and other visual aids
    • Assisting with communication efforts for IT projects.
    • Business facing informational updates; schedule and manage training on new or changed IT services.
    • Maintaining IT informational pages on our company Intranet, based in SharePoint Online.
    • Helping to drive IT cohesiveness through team building exercises; opportunities to connect.

    Skills You Bring:

    • Enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree program in IT or Communications or relevant majors
    • Familiarity with IT applications, services and concepts to be able to translate technical information for users of varying technical abilities.
    • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
    • Experience with Microsoft products and tools such as: SharePoint Online, PowerPoint, Forms, etc.
    • Quick learner with a flexible, adaptive, and creative mindset.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Microsoft M365 knowledge
    • Active Directory Familiarity
    • Excel skills such a pivot table creation and Vlookup

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

    Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.

    The application period for the intern/co-op position is estimated to be through the end of March 2025; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidate
