Job Summary: The person hired for the position of Machine Operator will set up and operate vertical tower coater and thermal oxidizer per standard procedures.nbsp; Adjust coater controls and perform in-process testing to produce material that meets Monrovia quality and process standards.nbsp; Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Follow safe work procedures and safety policies including grounding and usage of personal protective equipment.nbsp; Report all safety hazards to supervisor or lead person.nbsp; Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Observe all plant and company policies. Complete production reports, inspection reports, and other reports as required using computer systems. Obtain input materials from designated storage areas and return unused material as necessary.nbsp; Check identification and quality status of input materials to assure proper usage.nbsp; Operate fork truck as needed to move materials. Engage in Plant continuous improvement and problem solving. Assistance in training of co-workers on an as-needed basis. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position. Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision. May handle or generate Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Materials. Coater: Operate Vertical Tower Coater according to schedule or as prioritized by supervisor or lead person. Set up coater per process standards including coating blades, pans, idle rolls, roll wraps, thread up, input materials, etc. Inspect web for defects per standard and take corrective action as needed. Adjust coater as needed to produce material that meets coating specifications including blades, speed, tensions, temperatures, compound levels, tram, etc. Inspect the coater and related equipment for proper function: guards, rollers, blade holders, hoist, etc. Prepare and place identification tickets on all coated rolls and return-to-stock materials. Communicate with and obtain assistance from other operators as necessary. Obtain samples and test coated product and input materials per coating work standards.nbsp; Record test data. Environmental/Mental/Visual/Physical Demands: Typical manufacturing environment. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals and handling hazardous waste.nbsp; Work is frequently dirty. Must wear protective equipment such as: protective breathing and facial protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and gloves.nbsp; Moderate to heavy physical exertion.nbsp; Requires constant visual attention to equipment to correct flaws, ensure continuous operation and tension drift.nbsp; Manual dexterity required for optimum equipment operation.nbsp; Job requires constant standing/walking.nbsp; Working with flammable liquids. Responsible for interpreting schedules and meeting product demands with little or no supervision.
