    Application Engineers work with customers to develop solutions using the portfolio of Saint-Gobain’s bonding, sealing and protection materials. The position collaborates closely with the commercial, manufacturing and research and development teams to determine if an existing solution are appropriate or to initiate collaborative development on a new product or process tailored for a customer to attain their vision.

    Application Engineers work to understand needs and benefits to propose, develop and implement responsible, application specific testing, validate products against certification requirements, as well as train on how a solution will be implemented. As part of this function they review customer or industry specifications and communicate the compliance or and exceptions needed for a particular solution.

    Travel within North America to work with our partners, or potential partners, gives the Application Engineer experience and the ability to gain first-hand knowledge of the challenges to be addressed. Markets served include many emerging technologies and diverse applications in construction, automotive, industrial, transportation, medical and renewable energy.

    Creativity, problem solving and tenacity are hallmarks of the Application Engineer. Application Engineers develop careers paths that build on their central role working within the Saint-Gobain structure into increasing responsibility and impact in manufacturing, research and development, and/ or our commercial teams.

    Required Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Aerospace or Engineering and Management) required
    • Work or projects that display innovative thinking or stakeholder consideration beyond stated goals preferred
    • Internship or co-op experience preferred
    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) required
    • Ability to interact with customers and management at all levels required
    • Experience in customer facing role such as technical support or technical sales preferred
    • Experience using statistical tools for process capability analysis preferred
    • Experience with Problem Solving Methodology - Root Cause Analysis/FMEA preferred

    Additional Description

    Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $68,700 to 106,300 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This is the full range - offer is likely to be in the middle of the range.

    In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $74,883 to $115,867 per year. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
