    The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all human resource functions at the Motion Systems Division (MSD) site in Black Mountain, NC.  Responsibilities include talent and performance management, employee relations, regulatory compliance, all recruiting, payroll, wage and salary, and benefits administration, and leadership of training programs as well as other general HR responsibilities. 

     

    The HR Manager will also contribute to the organizational design strategy in alignment with the Kearfott corporate strategic plan, and will lead monthly departmental performance metrics as well as MSD organizational capability annual reviews. Working with the Senior Leadership Team, the HR Manager will to attract the best talent to MSD while promoting a diverse work force.  The HR Manager maintains a close working relationship with local government, community colleges and universities that ultimately facilitates the acquisition of qualified candidates for internships and full time employment.

     

    The HR Manager’s team designs, implements, and continuously improves MSD site policies and procedures including the FAA Drug & Alcohol Policy, Affirmative Action Plan and the Worker’s Compensation program. Extensive working knowledge of government regulations associated with EEO and affirmative action, Title VII, ADA, Employment Eligibility, FMLA, WARN, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA is required.

     

    Provides leadership in the design and execution of workforce planning, employee relations, talent development, succession planning, required regulatory procedures and targeted strategic initiatives.

     

    Specific responsibilities include:

    Provision of services to the Senior Leadership Team, as well as site managers and supervisors in coordinating all activities related to staffing, employee relations and building organizational capability

    Participation in internal and external investigations/audits, supply necessary documentation and perform necessary follow-up to ensure meeting of deadlines

    Recruit hourly, salaried, and professional personnel with appropriate skills in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and corporate policies and procedures to ensure attainment of plant Affirmative Action Goals

    Develop and deliver HR-related training, such as behavioral interviewing and performance management

    Support New Employee Orientation process with HR training, policies and procedures, and new hire on-boarding requirements

    • Develop Affirmative Action Plan and partner with site leaders in the attainment of goals

    • Staffing liaison with Corporate HR and other company sites

    • Support site and Corporate strategic HR initiatives

    • Resolve employee relations issues and coach managers on disciplinary situations

    • Assist in gathering and presenting data for the board of directors and on a project basis

    • Wage and salary administration and recommendations for necessary changes based on market data

    • Oversee benefits including the open enrollment process for manufacturing site

    • Monitor and administer performance appraisal process

    • Other duties, as defined by Director, Human Resources, to meet business needs

     

    Required Skills

    • Knowledgeable in federal and state regulations including EEO and Affirmative Action, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, WARN, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA.
    • OFCCP experience is preferred.

    Required Experience

    • A Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Human Resources) with a minimum of 5 years of HR supervisory or management experience in a high technology manufacturing environment. Master’s degree and/or Aerospace work experience is a plus
    • PHR/SPHR certification is preferred

     

     The HR Manager role is permanently located in Black Mountain, NC.
