HR Generalist Job Locations US-TX-Deer Park Requisition ID 2018-2699 Category Human Resources Overview Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries. We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist. This position is based in Deer Park, Texas and requires travel. Responsibilities Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Administers various human resources plans, policies, and procedures for all company employees; assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual. Provides consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on human resources related matters, ensuring alignment with company policies, goals, and objectives. Performs benefits administration to include assisting with enrollment, status changes, and communicating benefit information to employees. Develops, communicates and leads wellness programs for employees. Implements organizational development, workforce or succession planning, training on human resources related topics, or performance management strategies as developed by the company. Assists in recruiting programs and events and conducts employee orientations. Develops and maintains reports, performing analysis, as needed. Handles employee relations concerns, conducting investigations and interviews, counseling managers and employees, and exit interviewing. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Assist in maintaining company organization charts. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three to five years of Human Resources experience in the HR field and/or alternative combinations of education and experience in lieu of degree Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred Experience in the Oil/Gas or Construction/Maintenance industry preferred Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration Effective oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to travel up to 60% of the time We offer excellent benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, matching 401K, and we are proud to be a 100% Employee Owned Company!
