. Intern Communication Your tasks and responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this role, Intern Communication, are to: Work with Corporate Internal Communications team to draft, post, track, and measure articles/content on BayerNet (i.e., U.S. Intranet); Audit and manage updates for U.S. Corporate Department intranet pages and assist the team with major intranet content integration project; Provide general writing and event support for corporate departments and Bayer's BWell Wellness program; Gather materials for the weekly cascades of Bayer U.S. News and assist the team with monthly internal measurement report; Hands on support for major company-sponsored programs and events hosted at Bayer's sites and other venues (i.e., K-9s for Warriors, NY Red Bulls activities, 4H Partnership programs, Making Science Make Sense volunteer programs, etc.) which includes assistance with event planning, event communications, event day program management, logistics, drafting articles summarizing the activities of the day; work on electronic "photo albums", videos, social media programs, etc.; Develop refreshed "evergreen" content for the company's U.S. digital signage communications system and support content creation and posting of the BayerScapes employee blogs; Assist with content curation for the new Bayer 360 internal news broadcast program launching this year; Support the Internal communications team with site various site communications needs for New Jersey and Pittsburgh; Participate in executing the company's Alka-Rocket Challenge in which Universities across the U.S. will compete to set a new Guinness World Record as part of the company's STEM education and science literacy program; Perform external primary research to review and update as necessary the list of the most appropriate media targets for Bayer in the next 12-18 months; Develop and assist with posting science-based posts for the company's Beaker Life blog. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Currently attending college studying Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or similar field; Demonstrated organizational, time management and independent prioritization skills and must be self-motivated; Ability to handle numerous tasks at the same time are imperative to effectively perform the functions of this position, as is attention to detail; Ability to be highly effective and successful working independently and with teams; Ability to work through and complete assignments which often result in conflicting priorities and deadlines with little to no supervision; Excellent communications skills, with a proven ability to respond with professionalism in verbal as well as written communications; Demonstrated interpersonal skills, professional and ethical work practices; Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels and in some cases, key media representatives with whom we have relationships; Competence, flexibility and effectiveness at dealing with frequent and highly stressful, high visibility situations and assignments, including many short notice assignments that will present conflicting priorities. Proficient computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and knowledge of using internet and social media for research tasks.
