Job Description
As a Belt Specialist you will be a member of the Tooling Group at our Niles location. You will be responsible for performing all tasks associated with manufacturing belts following the standard operating procedures. You will work 1st shift, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Prepare mother asambly per standard operating procedures.
Insert and remove mother from tanks.
Grind, wash and spindle belts per work instructions.
Perform visual inspections to detect quality issues.
Prepare, clean and store belts per standard operating procedures.
Pack belts for shipment.
Setting up lab equipment using a variety of settings.
Analyze test results.
Enter test results into the computer to keep accurate records of laboratory work along with recording observations, preparing data for further analysis.
Perform simple statistical analysis through the collection and input of data into software applications and/or manual calculations.
Be able to verify the feasibility of the process defined by the Travel Sheet.
Maintain a safe, clean, efficient and productive workplace.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
Must have general knowledge of and able to work with computers and programs (Excel, Word, MFG PRO)
Able to work with others in a team environment.
Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Able to work flexible hours as required by the production process.
Intermediate level of mathematical, reading/writing skills.
Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.

Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills.
Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instruction.
Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
Preferred Requirements:
2-3 years experience in the manufacturing environment is preferred.
Prior mechanical and electrical skills preferred
Prior shipping experience a plus
