    Job Description

    This is for a 6-month position from July - December 2021.

    The Process Analytics group serves the Product and Technology Development organization to drive the innovation and commercialization of process analytical technologies, process data acquisition and management systems, and advanced data analytics from development through commercial supply.

    Position Description

    This role supports the mission and vision of the Process Analytics team within the Product Technology Development (PTD) organization to develop reliable, scalable, and sustainable process analytical technologies and sensors. The key responsibilities for a PAT Scientist include:

    • Evaluate and develop new in-line and on-line PAT solutions for biopharmaceutical processes with a strong focus on the application of vibrational spectroscopies for upstream and downstream process monitoring and control
    • Trains relevant stakeholders on PAT tools and respective analytical approaches (e.g., multivariate models and other processing methods)
    • Authors reports and reviews relevant documentation.
    • Responsible for curating critical knowledge and developing best practice related to PAT development efforts.
    • Supports automation interface development between PAT analyzer/sensors and Optimal synTQ or other process historians and data systems

    Qualifications

    To participate in the Biogen Co-Op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
    • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    EDUCATION

    On track to graduate as a PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or related discipline.
