    Position Summary:

    The Business Development Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth for a $40,000,000 event rental company. The position requires extensive travel (40%) to target markets, including Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, Orlando, Chicago, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Lexington KY. The primary focus will be on acquiring large sporting events and securing contracts with major convention centers in our target markets.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Market Strategy & Research

    Develop and execute comprehensive market strategies to penetrate target regions and industries.

    Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging opportunities and potential clients.

    Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

    Proactively identify and engage potential clients for high-value event rental services.

    Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in the large sporting event and convention center sectors.

    Strategic Partnerships

    Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations in the events industry.

    Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.

    Sales Presentations & Negotiation

    Develop compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to the needs of potential clients.

    Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure profitable deals.

    Lead the development and execution of sales plans to achieve revenue targets.

    Travel Management

    Plan and execute travel to target markets for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows.

    Optimize travel schedules and expenses to maximize efficiency.

    Performance Reporting & Analysis

    Utilize CRM tools to maintain accurate records of sales activities and track performance metrics.

    Provide regular reports on sales achievements, market trends, and competitor activities.

    Collaborate within a team environment with a cooperative spirit.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Compensation & Employment Details:

    Base salary of $90,000 - $120,000 annually plus commission/bonus.

    The weekly schedule includes a 40–50-hour workweek.

    Unlike most hospitality/event industry positions, most of your nights and weekends are free!

    Time will be split between time in the office and on the road based on client needs and expectations. 20 hours should be spent in the office each week.

    Reports to: Director of Sales

    Location:

    Position based in Cleveland, OH (candidate must be in or able to relocate within a reasonable timeframe) with extensive travel in the Midwest (Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Lexington, Louisville, Pittsburgh, St. Louis) and Florida (Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Naples, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach).

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).

    Minimum of (5) five years of experience in business development and sales, preferably in the high-value event rental or hospitality industry.

    Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required.

    In-depth understanding of the events industry, national accounts/contracts, large sporting events, convention centers, trade shows, and multiyear contracts

    Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.

    Willingness to travel extensively (40% of the time).

    Completion of a Behavioral and Cognitive Assessment through the Predictive Index.

    Successful completion of company background check and drug screen.
