    Job Description

    Tape is the foundational volume storage technology that is leading growth in cold storage. Join a team where you can make an immediate impact on the robust tape technology roadmap. The candidate will be responsible for characterization for tape head products, supporting them from concept through their manufacturing life cycle.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead OEM Product Development Team meetings
    • Analyze Wafer and Backend process data and trends
    • Provide data-based inputs to inform decisions of reader/writer designers
    • Support and optimize product specs for yield and performance
    • Meets goals with little direction and supervision
    • Subject matter expert in area of responsibility or has extensive knowledge of several technical areas
    • Applies technical expertise to complete complex tasks
    • Lead individual contributor for key technical projects and programs
    • International travel will be required (5%)
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • BS with 5+ yrs experience, MS with 3+ yrs experience, PhD with 1+ yrs experience, Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Data Sciences, or a related field with experience in product characterization or process engineering
    • Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in R, JMP, Minitab, SAS, Python or similar
    • Experience with magnetic read/write head data analysis is a significant plus
