This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

    Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

    • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
    • Paid on weekly basis

    Shift hours Include:

    • Employees will work during day-time hours (approximately 7am to 5pm) and may be part-time or full-time.

    Required Qualifications

    • Must have ability to work August - December (part time preferred)
    • High school Diploma or equivalent required
    • Student in good academic standing
    • Must be junior-level undergraduate or graduate student, or equivalent experience
    • Preference to students who have a business administrative minor, or related
    • Must possess the ability to work safely and effectively within a manufacturing environment
    • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Preference to students with experience in an ERP or CRM system
    • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills
    • Must possess great people skills in order to interact with internal and external teams, including customers
    • Ability to be proactive and display self-initiative
    • Previous sales experience, or industrial/manufacturing knowledge is a plus

    Position Description

    The Saint-Gobain Boron Nitride manufacturing site in Amherst, NY is looking for an intern/co-op who is available for a Sales & Commercial internship for Fall 2024! The sales internship with Saint-Gobain provides professional development opportunities and valuable applied learning in a manufacturing production setting within sales, product management, marketing and customer service fields. The individual will work under the direction of our Product Manager.

    This individual will be focused on assistance on a variety of commercial functions, including but not limited to:

    • Partner with sales and customer service managers to understand existing customer business strategies, and learn from being included in internal and external meetings
    • Gather and analyze customer requirements by directly or indirectly interacting with our customers
    • Partner with customer service to develop standard procedures for order entry
    • Become a digital champion of Salesforce (CRM system) and QAD (ERP system) - learn, develop and share best practices!
    • Be exposed to marketing towards 7 different markets
    • Partner with marketing, sales, product development, and customer service on various other projects and reporting
    • Help to create digital customer tracking tools to be used by various functions throughout manufacturing on a day-to-day basis

    This is an opportunity for an intern to get exposure to various aspects that they have learned in the classroom with the real-life experiences of activities at Saint-Gobain Boron Nitride, which has a worldwide presence.

    This position covers a wide range of customer centric functions. Preference will be given to students who have interest or background in business related courses as well (economics, finance, business administration).
