CNC Lathe Operator (Roll Turner) (3929) -Location: -Seguin, TX (0216) -Relocation Assistance: -Position Overview Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a CNC Lathe Operator position in the Rolling Mill. This is a skilled position in the Rolling Mill for an employee possessing an excellent working knowledge of CNC Machining. Under the direction of the Roll Shop Foreman, the Roll Turner maintains our roll inventory using CNC Lathes and a CNC notching machine. The CNC Lathe Operator plans, coordinates and executes work on his machines over the duration of the shift. The CNC Lathe Operator uses all available resources to create a safe work environment and maintain the operational schedule. This position works on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, which involves rotation between day and night shifts with overtime built into your schedule. Essential Functions and Responsibilities -Actively participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture. -Maintain a clean and safe work environment on the CNC machines. -Test and verify process to ensure accurate craftsmanship. -Daily operation of the CNC Lathes and CNC Notching Machine. This includes loading, operating and performing routine maintenance. -Maintain proficiency with measuring equipment and techniques (micrometers, calipers, protractors, etc.) and properly teach and use these tools and techniques in turning our roll inventory. -Coordinate and communicate with teammates and supervisors daily to ensure safe operations, preservation of company assets, environmental compliance, cost and energy consciousness. Experience and Skill Requirements -No less than 1 year of field experience in either an operations and or manufacturing environment strongly preferred. -Knowledge of CNC Lathes preferred. -Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and equipment preferred. -Ability to operate a forklift and/or overhead crane. -Excellent math, verbal, mechanical, analytical and planning skills. -Basic computer skills required. SAP experience a plus. -Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication. -Willing to learn; enjoys tackling new challenges. -Is organized and shows attention to detail, with a "get it right the first time" mindset. -Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs. -Works well with team members or independently; gives and receives feedback in a constructive manner. -Makes timely and sound decisions; uses resources wisely. -Displays a positive, can-do attitude; maintains composure when faced with difficult situations. -Ability to stand for duration of shift, up to 12 hours; frequent walking or climbing stairs. -Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. -Push and pull up to 90 lbs. and carry 50 lbs. -Ability to work with exposure to inside and outside temperatures, loud noise, heights, and confined spaces. -Must be able to work a 12 hour shift, which include overtime, weekends and some holidays.
