    WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

    The Corporate Sustainability Intern will support CertainTeed Roofing sustainability initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts while gaining hands-on experience in sustainability management in a large manufacturing company. The intern will assist in advancing a key 2025 sustainability team goal of improving structure, documentation, and site support for sustainability initiatives. The intern will engage directly with CertainTeed Roofing's sustainability team, participate in professional development, and collaborate with fellow interns.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the implementation of central sustainability projects and initiatives (energy/CO2 roadmap).
    • Support data collection, tracking, and reporting on sustainability metrics and performance.
      • Create a plant monthly tracking tool for monitoring environmental metrics, and dashboard for displaying performance and progress (e.g. PowerBI).
      • Develop sustainability calculation and impact analysis tools for sites to use (i.e. consolidated Scope 1/2/3 CO2 calculator)
    • Assist in the preparation of sustainability reports, presentations, and communications.
      • Best practice sharing platforms and data/project information collection: Collect details (approach, implementation, lessons learned, vendors, etc.) on best practice projects and assemble into a user-friendly and accessible repository. Consolidate project impact data to develop estimates on project cost and savings to build into sustainability best practices bank.
      • Enhance the internal Roofing Green Team Teams page to function as an efficient document-sharing and communication tool by organizing files, consolidating channels, and structuring posts appropriately.
      • Develop a comprehensive Roofing Sustainability SharePoint page to serve as a central resource for all RPG sustainability-related information.
      • Follow and update the operational sustainability calendar as necessary.
    • Engage with stakeholders to promote employee’s sustainability awareness and education.
    • Conduct research and analysis on sustainability trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Other tasks and projects as required by the manager.

    IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

    • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate in a business or economics major.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong data management and analytical skills.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Strong general computer skills required, including experience with Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience with developing a dashboard with PowerBI or Tableau preferred.
