    WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

    Join our team as an EHS Technician and play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and environmental compliance of our Charleston Glass Mat facility. You'll work closely with the EHS Manager to support health and safety initiatives, minimize risks, and enhance our safety culture. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization while growing your expertise in EHS.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Daily EHS Tasks: Complete assignments from the EHS Manager to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
    • Safety Monitoring: Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to site safety policies.
    • Hazard Identification: Spot and address safety hazards to eliminate or reduce risks.
    • Routine Audits: Conduct job safety analysis, risk assessments, and work permit audits.
    • Safety Reporting: Share safety engagement activities during production meetings with the Site Leadership Team.
    • Incident Tracking: Monitor EHS incidents and assist in developing mitigation plans.
    • Data Management: Use tracking systems to report safety indicators and assist with EHS metrics.
    • Safety Enforcement: Collaborate with leaders, visitors, and contractors to uphold safety standards.
    • Emergency Response: Actively participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
    • Safety Committee: Support the EHS Manager in leading the Safety Committee's activities.
    • Corrective Actions: Track and follow up on EHS corrective actions, communicating with involved employees.
    • Contractor Coordination: Serve as the point-of-contact for contractors and visitors working under site permits.
    • Environmental Compliance: Assist in managing environmental compliance tasks.
    • Sustainability Projects: Identify and participate in sustainability improvement initiatives.
    • Training: Conduct Safety New Hire Orientation and other EHS training sessions as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Associate’s degree in EHS or related field.
    • Experience: 3-5 years in the general industry, health & safety field.
    • Knowledge: Understanding of OSHA standards, regulatory compliance, and environmental regulations.
    • Skills: Proficiency in Lean Thinking, 5-S, Six Sigma, and MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify root causes, develop solutions, and prioritize tasks.
    • Leadership: Lead by example, maintaining the integrity of Safety/EHS Management Systems.
    • Analytical Thinking: Analyze problems and distinguish between effective and ineffective solutions.
    • Decision-Making: Make timely decisions and escalate issues to the EHS Manager as needed.
    • Collaboration: Engage with production employees, supervisors, engineers, and plant leaders daily.
