ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish inspection methodologies and frequency requirements.
- Drive quality improvements on piece part manufacturing as well as assembly of products.
- In-depth knowledge of precision Metrology and Metrology Development is required.
- Develop and manage Measurement Capability Analysis and Gage R&R.
- Develop accurate and objective Quality Metrics.
- Understanding and ability to work with automated inspection equipment such as Automated Optical Inspection(AOI) and Coordinate Measurement Machine(CMM).
- Conduct time studies, test reports and evaluations to improve quality.
- Acting liaison between Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Applications Engineering.
- Providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with external customers and suppliers to understand and resolve material and product issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in MFG Quality/Process Engineering positions.
- Strong understanding of Metrology equipment, application and Processes.
- Advanced knowledge of Inspection standards “Y14.5” (GD&T) is a plus.
- Good understanding of basic Machine Shop practices and fundamental understanding of CNC controlled Mills & Lathes.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to interact with managers and customer.
- Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
- Excellent attention to fine details and strong on following up.
- Dependable and resourceful with strong commitment to their work.
- Well organized and able to meet deadlines. Can handle time sensitive work assignments.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
- Able to read & understand blueprints and mechanical drawings.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
- Knowledge about machining and surface treatment processes (plating and anodizing) is a plus.
- Knowledge about machining plastics and polymers is a plus.
- Experience with MS Office is required (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance is required.
- Must be well vested in performing Gage R&R. Be able to plan, execute and analyze Design of Experiments.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis and statistical process control systems is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to sit and work at the computer for extended periods.
