    We’re seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern to join our business in North America during the summer of 2025 on our Hardware Engineering Team. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that integrate with our RFID, IoT and intelligent labeling systems. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to design, develop and test firmware for a range of hardware devices. Our summer internship program serves as a talent pipeline for our Early Careers Program throughout the organization.

    We are considering individuals who are excited about working in our state of the art facility in Sayre, PA.

    What you will be doing

    • Assist in the design, coding and testing of firmware for embedded systems focusing on RFID and loT devices.

    • Support debugging and troubleshooting efforts to resolve issues with hardware and firmware

    • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of firmware with electronic systems

    • Participate in code reviews and provide input to improve overall system performance and reliability

    What you will need to bring to the program

    Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

    Education

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering ( junior status) or Master’s degree with a focus on Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field

    • Bachelors and Masters degrees must come from an accredited US institution. Sponsorship is not available at this time. Students must be domestic.

    • Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real time operating systems (RTOS)

    • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems

    • Basic understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, 12C, UART or CAN

    Preferred Experience

    • Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience

    • Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc.

    • Volunteerism or similar activities

    *Must have reliable transportation to and from work in Sayre, PA

    *Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

    Travel

    • Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time
