    We are a Foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Kenton, Ohio team. 

     

    THIS JOB POSTING IS FOR A CUP OPERATOR WITH A PAY RANGE OF $19.00/HOUR TO $20.75/HOUR PLUS SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL AND PROGRESSIVE PAY INCREASES.

    WORK SCHEDULE: Night Shift 7:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M. (either C or D shift)

     

    Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends - $0.50/hour added for night shift differential!

     

    JOB SUMMARY: Cup Operators prepare and start up cup machines to meet the department’s production schedule. They maintain product quality by ensuring proper print settings and fluid levels, and troubleshooting as needed. All Cup Operators must follow Graphic Packaging International’s safety procedures and policies. They understand and align business operations and the Cup Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

     

    Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.

    Follow production schedule. Inspect orders listed on assigned machines to determine what prints are currently running and what print changes will occur during shift. Notify Warehouse to provide rolls or blank carts as needed.

    Prepare 3 – 4 cup machines for production. Duties include but are not limited to inspecting electrical cabinet and confirming proper settings and conditions exist for production, using lifts to load paper and bottom stock, manually loading blanks onto table for blank fed machine, preparing new rolls by taping edges, and threading rolls through the feeders.

    Follow procedure to startup cup forming machines. Additionally, record roll/blank cart numbers, linear feet run, time of roll/blank cart change, and the case number in which roll changes take place on the Production Report.

    Maintain machine fluid levels.

    Troubleshoot machines and clean machine tooling as needed. Make temperature adjustments as specified by guidelines and facilitate testing as necessary. When notified of leaker problem, follow leaker correction procedure.

    Maintain settings for various prints.

    Complete housekeeping duties and keep assigned areas clear of hazards. Duties include but are not limited to wiping off oil, ink, paper dust, and poly deposits in and around the machine, keeping floor free of oil and paper dust, as well as emptying barrels by dumping cups, blanks and paper scrap in dumpsters or in shredders as needed.

    Fill-in for other Cup Operators as needed.

    Complete monthly cleaning duties per schedule and document issues discovered.

    Responsible for assuring production of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.

    Other duties as assigned

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

    Manufacturing experience preferred

    Prior machine operator experience highly preferred

    Must be able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment

     

    SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

    The Cup Operator schedule is 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

    Must be willing and able to work overtime.

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.

    Awkward and/or repetitive movements.

    Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.

    Push/pull pallet jack with up to 500 lb. load; push/pull wheeled cart with up to 900 lb. load

    Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

    Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.

    Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
