The Enzyme Manufacturing groupnbsp;in Madison Wisconsin is focused on implementing electronic batch record and moving away from paper-based records. This internship will assist with the modeling of the Enzymenbsp;Purification process for MES integration. Roles and Responsibilities: Activitiesnbsp;include but are not limited to working with Illumina Purification Scientist to design complex process flow map for integration into a MES system. In addition, the intern will worknbsp;with the Purification Scientist tonbsp;define key inputs and outputs. They will work cross functionallynbsp;with the site's Meteorology team to design processes to export data from laboratorynbsp;equipment, such as the GE Healthcare AKTA systems. They will nbsp;also work withnbsp;Illumina Product Management to capture critical product quality attributes for trending as part of the overall system modeling for MES integration. Qualifications amp; Requirements: * Must be rising junior in a Bachelors program, with a minimum 3.2 GPA * Must have strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. * Preferred Majors: Biomedical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Biochemistry or Protein Biochemistry. * Must have completed coursework innbsp; Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry. * Familiarity with working within a laboratory setting strongly preferred. * Experience in Database Administration highly desired. Desired experience, but not mandatory: * Experience with automated FPLC systems (e.g. the AKTA platform). * Familiarity with Protein purification techniques. * Computerized Inventory Control ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
