  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Operate high resolution, variable print proprietary imaging equipment
    • Program and prepare jobs for printing
    • Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests
    • Setup, program and release jobs from print queue
    • Adjust image position Color quality and resolution, perforations and folds on paper, etc.
    • Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality
    • Order supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets and rollers, paper, tabs, and other items as needed
    • Maintain inventory levels.
    • Perform “preflight” check for required fonts, colors, sizing, resolution and other needed components to ensure completeness prior to submitting to printer.
    • Format, color correct and manipulate files according to client specifications.
    • Setup of files including enlargements, composing and processing of files prior to forwarding to various printers.
    • Operate printer
    • Operate various finishing equipment
    • Enter, store, and retrieve information on Mac based equipment.
    • Identify missing or problematic components of job and communicate accordingly.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Requires advanced knowledge of digital print and/or inkjet imaging equipment set up, adjustment, operating procedures, and a corresponding level of skill to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment
    • Able to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment, and in addition, diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the service or product or function
    • Requires advanced knowledge of color theory and ability to make adjustments and color corrections when operating the equipment to produce the imaging to customer specifications
    • Excellent knowledge of file manipulation and file formats for digital print
    • Excellent knowledge and ability to set up feed rollers, tensioning, timing and in-line finishing per job specifications
    • May instruct junior level operators how to complete the required corrective adjustment
    • Typically, corrective adjustments performed require the operator to consider the symptom(s), possible causes and remedies
    • Strong knowledge of design/layout/image/color editing software is essential, specifically: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of the digital printing process and print file preparation.
    • Quality Minded
    • Ability to address and troubleshoot file issues.
    • Detail oriented Prepress or Large Format printing experience is a plus.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines.
    • Self-Starter with the willingness to take initiative.

    The pay range for this role at the noted location is $19.27 - $27.51 / hour. The
    actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education,
    skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to
    base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also
    include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay. RRD offers benefits
