Position Details:
- Title: Chemical Operator (varying departments)
- Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have prior production experience, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, or food production environment is desired. Ability to complete batch paperwork required/
- Schedule : 2nd Shift, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, M-F
- Location: Gibbstown, NJ (08027)
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to read batch cards and record all information required, both written and electronically.
- Ability to fulfill work orders and fulfill the order demands with instruction and supervision.
- Staging and prep of raw materials/packaging.
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
- Measure amounts of products or weights of filled containers to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Mix ingredients according to specified procedures and formulas.
- Verify the performance of all calibration and verification checks on production equipment.
- Start machines or equipment in order to begin production processes.
- Open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures.
- Adjusts mixing speeds as necessary to achieve desired results; must have the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls.
- Ability to operate specific vessels, blenders, lines and packaging equipment with supervision.
- Observes production and monitors equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Routinely works from formulas, charts, tables, and schedules.
- Read gauges and charts; record all data/work in required logs.
- Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, quantities and types of materials.
- Assist in performing QC checks (torque, labels, containers, packaging, liquid levels, etc.) when designated by Line Leaders and/or Supv.
- Completes batch paperwork and reviews on hand inventories for accuracy.
- Cleaning of specific vessels, blenders, lines and packaging equipment with supervision.
- Housekeeping and cleaning of rooms.
- Perform minor repairs to machines, such as replacing damaged or worn parts.
- Reports any mechanical issues as needed immediately to Supervisor.
- Documentation (weights/downtime/GMP, MSS, verify packaging).
- Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment.
- Perform additional duties when requested by management.
- Follow all company procedures relating to safety.
Qualifications :
- 0–1 year experience in production setting.
- Fluent with the English language.
- Ability to understand and follow procedures/directions both written and verbal.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Organized and ability to multi-task with high attention to detail.
- Math skills – Ability to convert lbs., grams, kilos, ounces, liters, etc.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities and demands.
- Training/practice of GMP, FDA and Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations.
- Demonstrated Mechanical ability.

Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Physical Demands: Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend; kneel and climb; and lift/move up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis. In addition, must be able to maneuver and move 30 to 55-gallon drums or up to 450 pounds utilizing proper drum material handling equipment and/or the proper techniques.
Work Environment: Employee frequently works near moving mechanical equipment and chemicals and will be exposed to varying temperatures and PPE requirements.
