Job Summary
The Lead Installer at Cana Communications is responsible for leadership, planning, and execution to meet company objectives. This role ensures high-quality installations, customer satisfaction, and efficient use of company resources while adhering to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, troubleshoot, test, and certify electronic systems, including security, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, sound, intercom, voice/data, and nurse call systems.
- Manage multiple commercial and large-scale project accounts.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
- Ensure installations are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics for installations.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, coordinating with manufacturers as needed.
- Maintain system logs and documentation.
- Secure and manage job site materials, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED, NICET Level I minimum, EST3 certification.
- Preferred: Post-secondary education, additional certifications such as NICET Level II or higher, EST IO64/IO1000, EST 3 & 3X, OSHA 30, BICSI Installer 2, Panduit, Hubbell, Firelite ES-50X, and other relevant credentials.
Experience:
- Required: 7-12 years of relevant construction experience without certifications.
- Preferred: 10-15 years of experience with at least two listed certifications.
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment selection abilities.
- Effective time management and communication skills.
- Proficient in using computers and programming tools for system-specific software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs.
- Able to work at heights and operate ladders up to 12 feet.
- Ability to use power jacks, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.
- Must tolerate outdoor weather conditions and construction site environments.
Working Conditions
- Work on active construction sites under variable conditions.
- Travel and overtime may be required based on customer demand.
