JIT Engineer (Plant)
Seating Systems Division
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE JIT ENGINEER
Seat design
Own all seat design aspects of a particular vehicle (or row of seats)
- Responsible for robust and complete design
- Responsible for accuracy of data, and drawings
- Responsible for seat appearance
- Responsible for Seat BOMs
- Responsible for change control
Follow engineering best practices
Design within program timing deliverable
Maintain Lear PLM, Profile, and LPMP systems
Provide guidance to Designers and support Engineers (Structure, Foam, Trim)
Maintain engineering open issues lists and provide design solutions for closure
Address problems using engineered solutions
- FEA, DFM, DFMEA
- Design analysis
- Conduct design reviews and engineering appearance reviews. Maintain open issues as a result of these reviews
Interface with OEM customer
- Support customer program meetings (Sindelfingen, Germany & Vance, AL)
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs are feasible
Support Program Management, Sales, and Quality
Plant Engineering
- Drive/Support in root cause analysis
- Liaison with Development Team, discuss design proposals/changes (in this case Germany Sindelfingen)
- Support the implementation of product changes in the plant
- Contact to customer for engineering on site (Mercedes Vance, AL)
- Support implementation of model year facelifts
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JIT ENGINEER
- Experience in automotive seating
- Possess strong verbal/written communication skills
- Proficient with MS office software. Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with MS Project is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods to Lear plants / customer plants
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- German language not a must, but beneficial
