LSE Fabrication I Job Description: Strong technical contributor, passing all welding requirements for Les Schwab Equipment (LSE). Fabricates various types of products per Les Schwabs (LS) request and vision; responsible for prepping and assembling metal products using various tools and machines. Strong ability to read blueprints/diagrams, layout materials, and complete fabrication builds with limited supervision. Employees take jobs from raw materials to finished product. * Fabricate all materials, through all phases of the building process with limited to moderate supervision, creating a finished product. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to: shear, press brake, iron worker, band saws, CNC punch, CNC plasma, MIG/TIG welding of mild steel and aluminum w/some stainless steel * Create fabricated materials/items which may include, but are not limited to: steel/aluminum boxes, service bodies, alignment pit groups, quick lifts, benches, cabinets * Prepares materials for fabrication through the use of tools and equipment, following prepared drawings or blueprints to prepare materials/components for final assembly * Ready fabricated equipment for inventory by ensuring quality standards are met according to outlined policies and procedures * Maintain a safe and clean work environment; including assigned and scheduled maintenance of equipment * Ensure materials and labor hours are charged out correctly on all work orders Educational/Experience Requirements: * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent * Minimum of 2 years of welding/fabrication experience preferred * Welding certification is preferred * Experienced in MIG, & TIG in mild steel and aluminum. * Fab shop experience, * Shear, press brake, iron worker, punch press, and sawing. Required Technical Skills/Knowledge: * Ability to weld in a 3/4G position, and pass a bend test * Ability to weld carbon steel, aluminum and other alloys in flat, vertical, or overhead positions * Ability to weld alloys using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment * Ability to lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications with limited to no direct supervision * Ability to read and interpret diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required materials, and timeframes for projects * Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, punches, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components * Lift or move materials and finished products, using large cranes or forklifts * Ability to obtain forklift certification Les Schwab Tire Centers? is an equal opportunity employer.
