Halfaker has an opening for a SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR to join our talented, dynamic team. The key responsibilities for this position include:​

• Conduct Oracle DB patching and upgrades
• Conduct Oracle Backup/Recovery/Cloning
• Monitor Oracle DB performance and provide weekly/monthly reports
• Enhance the quality of data in existing repositories and prepare the data for migration to a new system at the premise or to a cloud data center such as Azure/AWS
• Evaluate data quality, consistency, and adherence to all data standards
• Ensure system performance, comprehend the platform on which the database runs, and add new users to the system
• Assistance with on-boarding of new partners for data migration needs
• Serve as a database administrator in both non-production and production environments
• Performance tune enterprise production database

• Data Migration from tables to table and/or DB to DB using PL/SQL or DML

Cloud Migration Knowledge and Experience, and/or experience working with AWS Oracle RDS

Strong communication skills

Highly teamwork oriented

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required

• 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

5 years of relevant experience

Experience working on an Agile Scrum or Kanban team

Experience working with version control tools (preferably Github), and issue management tools (preferably Jira)
