POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Purchasing Analyst/Intern will work as part of a team to manage the data collection, data analysis, and projects in support of the Central Logistics Purchasing team across multiple modes of transportation. This position assist in data collection and analysis spend category and compile business critical information into a usable, presentable format. Most importantly, the Analyst/Intern will draw inferences from the analysis to aid the Logistics Purchasing team in category management strategy and purchasing compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Logistics Purchasing Analyst/Intern requires the ability to think and act independently to develop and deploy appropriate data collection tools to gather the appropriate information from the business to support the sourcing and management activities for a variety of different commodity and service categories. The Analyst/Intern must be highly skilled technically (proficiencies in Microsoft Access, Excel, database software and programming).
Technical skills must be coupled with general business acumen in order for the Analyst/Intern to understand the meanings of the data and present it accordingly to drive the strategy or a category management initiative. Reporting developed and maintained by the Analyst/Intern will be communicated to the highest level of business. The Analyst/Intern will need to manage deadlines and timelines while managing multiple priorities to keep projects and the team on track.

EXPECTED DAILY TASKS & PROJECT WORK
Assist Central Purchasing with assigned projects across all modes of transportation
Development of tools/dashboards as required
Assist category managers in support of Request for Proposals (RFP’s)
Analyze data to identify cost savings opportunities, specifically for inbound transportation for raw materials
Ad hoc analyses and reporting as required

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working on computer, speaking on telephone, sitting long periods, and travel considerations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Plant visits may require considerable walking and some exposure to dust, chemicals, temperature changes and noise. May traverse manufacturing environments including stairs. Travel may require use of airlines, rental cars. Occasional light lifting.
