HOW YOU WILL PLAY A PART:
The Operations Manager is responsible and accountable for the success and execution of the Master Services Agreement and Site Operating Agreement entered into by Synovos and multiple clients within the Manufacturing divison.
The Operations Manager supervises, guides, and develops Program Managers, Site Managers, Buyers, and Site Manager/Buyers assigned within their territory to serve as the Company’s onsite purchasing and inventory managers. The Operations Manager is also responsible and accountable for maintaining client relationships to support contract renewals.
Further, the OM works with the Business Development team to expand operational scope within existing clients’ facilities; identify opportunities to roll-out services to client facilities not yet under contract; as well as, identify and support sales efforts to prospective clients.
The Operations Manager must frequently travel to client and prospective client locations in fulfilling his or her duties. The OM must be physically able to drive or otherwise commute between geographically diverse client locations to attend meetings, ensure acceptable business operations, and supervise and train staff. Many client locations are industrial plants with large footprints. Navigating within client locations may require the use of elevators and/or stairs or movement throughout a large client campus to access the storeroom and meeting rooms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow and enforce all site Safety and Security Procedures while documenting and reporting as required; ensure all staff receive initial and ongoing required safety training; file any safety incidents according to safety SOPs
- Responsible for the on-site supervision of all aspects of MRO and storeroom management operations encompassing customer service, receiving and inventory control
- Establish site specific operational goals and drive compliance.
- Process weekly posting of all transactions
- Effectively manage client site relationships, unique business processes and exceed internal/external customer expectations. Attend meetings and make contacts as necessary with client sites and vendors to resolve quality and delivery problems
- Work with senior management to define and implement strategic and tactical plans and concepts to effectively prioritize daily tasks procedures
- Drive stock re-order meetings with Purchasing team on a weekly basis
- Ensure on Time Delivery KPI(s) are met monthly for stock delivered
- Monitor warehouse inventory levels and suggest levels in accordance with client site and MROL needs. Develop and implement Inventory Reduction Programs. Ensures maintenance of proper labeling and storage of all inventoried items
- Establish and build client site relationships
- Will perform duties of Attendant, Driver, and Buyer in SOS, Sync, and JD Edwards
- Complete management of Synovos site to support transfers to local client-sites
- Manage and report on inventory levels and movement on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Set up new LC’s as business needs arise, including full facilities and personnel management
- Manage shutdown kitting projects as required for applicable client-sites
- Vehicle/DOT and warehouse equipment maintenance and management
Required Skills
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing and inventory management including experience using ERP systems and working with interfaces
- Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
- Computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong skills in Excel / PowerPoint; ability to learn and work with MS Project
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management and or MBA is preferred; 15+ years'' experience in lieu of a degree is required
- Five to seven year’s supervisory and managing experience is necessary
- Extensive experience using ERP systems and working with interfaces
- ISM or CPM certification or the ability to acquire the certification
