    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Provide maintenance support and repairs to production machinery, computer systems and facility for a 24 hr/7 day manufacturing operation. Additionally, performs all the duties of a Maintenance Technician 2 as required.

    KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software in assigned area (facility, machinery, equipment, etc.). Make timely and accurate repairs, as necessary, during production. Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.

    • Preventative Maintenance: Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis. Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan. These activities will be recorded using proper PM sheets.

    • Production Support: Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor. Train production technicians in the proper set-up and copy troubleshooting techniques. Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices.

    • Administrative: Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory. Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory. Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork. Provide training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspect their work.

    • Housekeeping/Other: Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine, and equipment clean-up, sweeping up after clean-up and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION

    • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
    • Vocational / Technical Degree in Electromechanical or Machine Automation (Preferred)
    • Associates Degree (Preferred)

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5 years related electro-mechanical experience
    • Extensive hands-on experience and detailed knowledge of Industrial mechanical and electrical machines and systems.
    • Computer hardware and software, specifically industrial controls and related I/O's.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Able to identify and perform Level A, B, & C equipment preventive maintenance.
    • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.
    • Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.
    • Must demonstrate good time management skills. Plans and organizes daily work flow.
    • Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multi-step procedures.
    • Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
    • Ability to organize work, people, and materials.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
    • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, etc.
    • Service-oriented personality.
    • Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts.
    • Ability to work a schedule with call-in and overtime duties.

    EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED

    • Strong Computer literacy: Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet software.
    • Ideal candidates will have experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software and Order Processing systems.

    Additional Information

    The national hourly pay range for this role is $26.30 - 37.70, dependent upon experience.

    The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
