    What’s the Job?

    The Learning and Development Training Specialist supports the execution of IPG’s immediate and long-term Learning & Development Strategy. Key deliverables for this role will be creating, developing, implementing, and conducting training and development programs for employees across IPG plants. This will include creation and advancement use of skills matrices, assessments and associated training resulting in actionable Individual Development Plans for both technical engineers and plant front line employees. Develop, make recommendations, and maintain a Learning Management System to support training and development of operational employees.

    Overall NA IPG Learning & Development Strategy Implementation

    • Supports execution of Learning and Development Strategy as directed by Manager

    Training Implementation

    Ensures appropriate learning techniques are utilized based on subject and content. Including but not limited to:

    • The Way To Teach People (TWTTP), Training Within Industry (TWI), Lecturing, Questioning, Heuristic, Sharing, Video

    Technical Operations

    • Directly supports plants in the creation of operator skills matrices
    • Directly supports plant in the creation standard work for operators and supervisors
    • Utilizing accepted best practice adult learning techniques to assist central process champions and plants in development and delivery of efficient and effective technical operator skill training for all businesses

    Technical Engineering

    • Directly supports process team in the creation of engineer standard work
    • Utilizing accepted best practice adult learning techniques to assist central process champions and plants in development and delivery of efficient and effective process, mechanical and automation engineer training

    Continuous Improvement

    • Utilizing accepted best practice adult learning techniques to assist central WCM champions and Continuous Improvement Managers in the development and delivery of efficient and effective WCM Program and tools training.

    Required Qualifications

    What do you bring?

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
    • 3 (three) - 5 (five) years’ experience in production and or maintenance within a manufacturing operation.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and equipment required
    • 2+ years in a learning and development or training role that supported technical engineers and operational employees
    • Ability to travel up to 50%
    • Driven, self-guided, accountable, delivers and promotes stretch performance
    • Highly organized, documents meeting agendas, actions, trip reports, best practices
    • Provides innovative solutions
    • Strong commitment to cost savings, profit improvement delivery, efficiency
    • Video Capture and Editing experience or willingness to learn
    • Training Within Industry (TWI) experience or willingness to learn
    • Strong People Leadership skills - Servant Leader, role model for TEC behaviors, people development skills
    • Lean enterprise and continuous improvement experience
