    Title: Refinery Operator Company: Marathon Petroleum Company LP Location: Los Angeles, CA. The Marathon Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking applicants to fill full-time new Operator/Process Trainee positions at our Wilmington and Carson, CA locations. Operators work closely with team members to monitor, regulate and operate complex process equipment to produce quality products in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner. Operators work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete an extensive pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check. To ensure safe operations, new hires must also successfully complete operator qualification training and participate in continuous random drug and alcohol screenings. Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of physical science, chemistry and mathematics, including algebra; a passing score on pre-employment test including mechanical aptitude, reading and mathematics. Minimum Requirements: - Associate's Degree in Process Technology, Math, Science, technical/chemical, related discipline or successful completion of a 2 year Technical Certification program in related field required or 5 years of experience working as a process operator in the petrochemical industry required. - Applicants must be at least 21 years old. - Military experience preferred. Physical Requirements Work performed at ground level and at heights on concrete, metal grating, gravel, asphalt and piping surfaces, while climbing, lifting 40 pounds plus, carrying 10-20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds with mechanical assistance and working in confined spaces. Schedule: Operators work 12 hour rotating shift schedules (day and night) and must be available for overtime. Pay and Benefits: Minimum starting rate is $35.38/hour with highly competitive benefits including retirement and medical. These are represented positions within the refinery.
