    We’re seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our business in North America during the summer of 2025 on our Hardware Engineering Team. This will be an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in mechanical design, product development and testing while contributing to cutting edge technologies including RFID, IoT and smart labeling systems. Our summer internship program serves as a talent pipeline for our Early Careers Program throughout the organization.

    We are considering individuals who are excited about working in our state of the art facility in Miamisburg, OH.

    What you will be doing

    • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for hardware products.

    • Support the creation of 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and prototypes using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

    • Participate in the testing and evaluation of prototypes, including stress tests, tolerance analysis, and thermal management.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and firmware engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into complete systems.

    What you will need to bring to the program

    Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:

    Education

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (at least junior status) or Master’s degree with a focus on Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics, or a related field.

    • Bachelors & Masters degrees must come from an accredited US institution. Sponsorship is not available at this time. Students must be domestic.

    • Experience with 3D CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, or similar)

    • Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles, including stress analysis, material selection, and tolerance analysis.

    • Familiarity with prototyping techniques and manufacturing processes (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining, injection molding)

    Preferred Experience

    • Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience

    • Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc.

    • Volunteerism or similar activities

    *Must have reliable transportation to and from work in Miamisburg, OH

    *Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

    Travel

    • Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time
