The McIntosh Plant is looking for a top-caliber, technically capable Chemical Operator who is action oriented, can make quality decisions quickly and possesses excellent troubleshooting skills. Winchester's principal manufacturing facilities produce and distribute sporting ammunition, law enforcement ammunition, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and components and industrial cartridges. Successful candidate will work as a member of a team operating a complex chemical production plant. He or she will monitor equipment operation and assist in startup, training and troubleshooting related equipment and chemical processes. Operators receive information from their supervisor or computer screen for job activities and must monitor computer screens or graphic displays to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. Operators are responsible for minor maintenance in area and safely preparing equipment for maintenance activity. He or she is also responsible for process sampling and analysis. Chemical Operators work in different areas of the plant including: Shipping/Caustic Loading, Liquefaction (including Chlorine and HCl Loading), Electrolysis or Brine. Operators demonstrate behaviors supportive of safe work environments for everyone, including reporting of near misses and incidents and assisting with incident investigations. Chemical operators constantly monitor field operating parameters to ensure quality requirements and perform all duties in alignment with Olins Quality Policy and per the ISO9001/RC14001 standards and procedures. He or she uses various controls systems to monitor, control and adjust equipment operations for tanks, boilers, air systems, water wells, condensers, reactors, pumps, coolers and compressors within established SOP standards. Consequences of errors: Operators work with hazardous chemicals and complex equipment. Errors in work could be lethal to self or others. Lack of judgment could result in exposures of disastrous proportions. Errors could result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
