We are looking for a motivated, talented individual interested in a manufacturing leadership role with significant growth opportunity to join our organization as a Light Plate/Palletizer at our Kalama, WA facility. This position sits at light plate at assigned times to monitor quality, reports defects, analyses and projects from gauging equipment and reports to Lehr Quality Control and relieves other operators as necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Troubleshoots and corrects equipment operating problems. 2. Monitors and loads equipment with consumables required for packaging and palletizing (case blanks, case dividers, tier sheets, pallets, banding material, rolls of shrink wrap material, printer cartridges, labels, etc.) 3. Monitors light plate for quality and communicate results. JOB DUTIES Safely and properly starts up and shuts down equipment and systems using plant procedures. Shuts down emergency equipment and systems as required to standard. Re-starts equipment and systems from emergency shutdown state. Responds to equipment alarms as required. Makes timely job change adjustments to packaging and palletizing equipment for product being manufactured. Operates bulk palletizer and wrap machine. Tracks and verifies product and packaging quality for each job change and customer shipment. Monitors consumables inventories in order to maintain proper quantities for uninterrupted production. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and field instrumentation as needed to maintain production and equipment reliability and accuracy. Conducts routine procedures during equipment operation, including completion of rounds checklists. Lubricates equipment per preventative maintenance schedule, or as needed. Safely locks out equipment for maintenance when required using plant procedures. Reads written work directives and procedures and conducts appropriate work activities as a result. Maintains clearly written logs describing status of equipment operation and abnormalities in areas of jobs responsibilities, and record shift activities. Attends safety meetings, training sessions and other plant meetings as required as assigned. Provides on-the-job training to new employees. Enters work requests into maintenance management system. Cleans and maintains all work areas. Displays excellent communication skills by radio and telephone including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Works cooperatively as a team member and respectfully takes direction from Manager. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. COMPUTER SKILLS Has the minimal skills necessary to operate a computer. Needs to be able to log on to a computer system, navigate in windows, perform simple tasks within applications and enter information into a database. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Needs to have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
