    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are actively searching for an experienced Value Stream Leader to join our Night Shift team in Putnam, CT. This is a phenomenal opportunity to work for a large, dynamic and fast-paced global organization! A successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the daily operations and long-term strategy of the assigned Value Stream(s) to enable and engage our Associates, provide ongoing work direction, and problem-solve to ensure business goals are met.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Promotes a safety-first culture through active participation in developing, maintaining, and improving safety systems 
    • Ability to act promptly to complete/delegate tasks and projects while being able to prioritize, communicate strongly and be self-managed during ambiguity
    • Plans daily operations, optimizing skills, available work hours, material, and workflow to assure schedule attainment 
    • Develops, sustains, and adapts training programs that are implemented through Standard Work practices 
    • Carries out formal supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including, but not limited to: associate attendance, training alignment, performance evaluations, conduct and development
    • Improves team engagement through coordinated activities
    • Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example 
    • Exhibits the ability to influence decision making with or without authority, facilitate groups with diverse perspectives and bring teams to agreement
    • Interact daily across shifts with functional resources including Day Shift VSL, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain to ensure production requirements are met

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in an Engineering or Business-related field
    • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of demonstrated ability and/or Associate’s degree in relevant field will be considered
    • Five or more years working in a Manufacturing or Operations environment
    • Experienced in the concepts and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
    • Must be proficient in basic Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); statistical software and ERP software experience preferred
