The Quality Engineer drives continuous improvement activities in a Custom Injection Molding environment. This position provides extensive and diversified quality engineering and metrology support for manufacturing products and processes while driving systems & completing projects in broad areas of assignment. Basic responsibilities include, Quality/ technical support, metrology, mentoring and training of quality assurance employees, failure investigation, disposition of nonconforming materials, conducting and updating risk analysis documentation defining/refining quality inspection plans, performing data collection, and trending of key metrics, and identifying and addressing supplier quality issues.
These responsibilities would include ensuring key performance targets of the business are achieved while maintaining up to date accurate tracking information. This position must work closely with other departments to provide information in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Three (3) Years of Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
Blue Print Reading and Dimensional Analysis Proficiency.
Contact and Non-Contact Metrology Background.
Geometric Tolerancing.
ISO-13485 background / TS16949 background.
Lean Manufacturing Experience (specifically: one-piece flow, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Factory).
Experience in a Quality Engineering function including mechanical inspection of parts, a plus.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
Engineering problem solving/decision making.
Strong knowledge of PPAP/High Volume Process and Part Validation Techniques.
Experience with Process Validation and/or Test Method Validations (for example: IQ, OQ, PQ and/or TMV).
Strong statistical analysis and mathematical ability a must.
Ability to perform metrology on plastic parts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. graphs, charts, formulas).
