    Job Summary

    This is a seasonal internship opportunity that will run for 6 months from January 2025 - June 2025 full time.

    The Purchasing intern will support data collection for packaging procurement with focus on developing specification database & analyzing current packaging material SKUs to assign designation of material type and hierarchies in support of sustainability initiatives for packaging spend under Central Purchasing scope. The intern shall develop appropriate reporting and tools as required by the VP of Logistics & Packaging Purchasing and the Purchasing Manager of Innovation & sustainability. The intern will also assist with market intelligence reporting and preparation of bids within the packaging category as required.

    Required Qualifications

    • Data collection and development of packaging specifications
    • Work cross-functionally with sustainability and plant teams to confirm all details
    • Develop process for packaging material review for best-practices
    • Research packaging materials to determine appropriate conversions and related material specifications
    • Spend analysis by business unit (where available)
    • Support sourcing initiatives for assigned raw material categories
    • Develop internal data research and analysis
    • Market research to present category current state and cost drivers
    • Research potential new suppliers for Saint-Gobain
    • Analyze and present bid results to support decisions; synthesize data to coincide with requirements/needs of the stakeholders

    Additional Description

    • Applicant must be pursuing a college degree in business, procurement, or related field.
    • Basic understanding Purchasing/Procurement function
    • Strong analytics skills, MS Excel required
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Team oriented
    • Results focused
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Flexible, but organized
